The long-awaited English-language version of Henry-Louis de La Grange's Volume One is to be released on 29 May 2020. The bad news is that Amazon.com shows a pre-order price of $195.00 plus tax. Beneath the author's name on the cover is the phrase "completed, revised and edited by Sybille Werner."

I think I'll await a remaindered copy and suggest that my university library pick up the title in the meantime.

Hi all,

I think it's out already. The Belgian publisher wrote to me yesterday, stating that my ordered copy would be sent to me that same day. If I receive it anytime soon, I'll report back!

Stay in good health, all of you!
Freddy

Perhaps it has different release dates in different countries/continents, or maybe Amazon.com is simply mistaken. In any case, unless someone sends me a review copy, I'm going to wait for a price drop.

James, thank you for listing all the chapters. That was a labor of love. I'm very interested in this also. I'm reading an early and relatively short book on Mahler by Paul Stefan. It's very good!

Yes, the Stefan-book is very good. I think it was the first biography on Mahler ever to appear (its first edition was printed in 1910).

As promised, I'm reporting that I received my copy of the Volume One. It's a huge book, even bigger and heavier than the 3 publications from Oxford University Press, and it cost me 169,- euro's  :-[ :-[
But I'm very happy to own this, and look forward to read the whole set (once...).

Cheers,
Freddy
