Just to clarify further for Erik, the DVD of Bernstein doing M8 is in Vienna's much larger concert hall, the Konzerthaus. The M8 that DG issued in their CD cycle (with Bernstein) was done days earlier at the Salzburg Festival. The video one is far superior, in my opinion.

Does anyone else hear something weird at the very end of the VPO M8 on CD? There's a weirdly dissonant suspension going on. Considering it's in E-flat major, I'm hearing an A-flat very loudly during the last three chords. It kind of hurts my ears. I'm 98% certain I've never heard it in any other recording.

I'd have look at the score to confirm this, but    .    .    .   I actually think the organist mis-counted and was still sitting on the dominant chord, not realizing that everyone else had already moved on to the resolution: the tonic Eb chord.
