Boulez/LSO Mahler Sixth (2000)

It's really excellent just as his VPO recording is. The difference is the orchestra. Of the two, the London Symphony Orchestra may be more experienced in playing Mahler, although I love the lavishing sound of the VPO.

This is awesome, thanks for sharing. The Andante is right around 14 minutes, which is even a bit swifter than his studio recording with the VPO. And the hammers sound great. In other words, this should replace his studio recording!

I wonder why LSO didn't release the recording. Perhaps they're afraid it wouldn't sell well (the Boulez/VPO had been around just 5 years by that time). But I really like the way LSO digs into the score with all the panache and aplomb which this orchestra is famous for.
