An uncompensated plug for a new transfer of Jascha Horenstein's performance of "Das Lied", from High Definition Tape Transfers ($17 on basic CD).  Soloists (James King, Birgit Finnila) are a little "buried in the mix" by on-site engineer Robert Von Bahr (of BIS Records fame), but that's not necessarily a disadvantage to King.  The Swedish band (the Stockholm Phil) acquit themselves far better than their peers did for JH's Mahler 6.

The performance clocks in at 62 minutes and is quite magnificent.  I love the singers.  Audience presence minimal, except for short burst of enthusiastic applause at end.
