timings for upcoming Van Zweden/LPO M5
« on: June 19, 2008, 05:20:55 PM »
Working in record stores does have its advantages. Anyway, Van Zweden's timings look fairly similar to Zinman's upcoming M5. V.Z. is just a tad shorter in the third and fourth movements.  I - 13:00; II - 14:16; III - 17:53; IV - 9:56; V - 14:45

f.y.i. - this is coming out on the LPO's own label.

Barry,

Looks pretty good. LPO made a terrific recording of M5th (live) with Tennstedt so they must know how to get it done right.

Yep I saw this here in a UK record store.  Not really tempted, I was put off the LPO label by their rather lacklustre Tennstedt Bruckner 3...

Yeah, but everybody says that the LPO's "Manfred" Symphony (Tchaikovsky) with Jurowski is excellent.
