GREAT!! ;D :D

It's amazing that all three reviewers including Barry gave such high praises to the recording. I would have done the same but I feel no need to do so because these folks have given the detailed reviews already.

FIVE STARS Mahler Eighth indeed.

As of 11:30 PM EDT last night (9/5), the price on the Seattle M8 at Amazon had dropped to $14.99. Get 'em while they're hot!

Yeah, I know Scott: the vocals aren't that great on the Schwarz M8. But in spite of Schwarz's weird interpretive idea for the ending to Part II, the endings to both parts are soooooooooooooooooo much better than they are on the new MTT/SFSO M8. The orchestral "interlude" passage in Part II - the one for unison violins, harps, and harmonium (chamber organ) - is also really well done. During this very same passage, Inbal has the exact opposite problem of MTT: he's caught going too fast through this lovely interlude (while MTT drags it to the point of  not being able to recognize the melody).
