Bruckner by Klemperer.

There are a few live recordings of Bruckner symphonies conducted by Otto Klemperer (Medici Masters).  How do these compare with the ones he recorded subsequently with EMI ?? ;)

I think that the "live" Vienna Phil. Mahler 9 is generally superior to the EMI Philharmonia one (except for sound quality, obviously). But I've never heard any of the live Bruckner ones. In fact, I've rarely seen those.

I second about the Klemperer/VPO M9th. It's super M9th with very idiomatic playing from VPO.

As for his Bruckner I love the B5th & B6th, the latter being a masterful reading. But I've never heard his live Bruckner recordings. I suppose they are more rugged and driven than the EMI studio recordings.
