Mahler Recordings on Rapidshare
« on: March 29, 2010, 01:20:14 AM »
Hi all,

Well, I have been looking around the forum today and have found several recordings I would like to download from Rapidshare--mainly those live, unreleased performances.  Those that interested me were the M6 from April 2009, the Harding M9 from 2007, the Rattle M10 from 2007 (I love Rattle in M6 and M9, so why not M10?) and a couple of others.
I am able to download all of these files, but in those instances I get a .zip file with a number extention after the ".zip".  For example: xxx.zip.001.
How do I open these files?  There is obviously something I am missing here... ;-)

Does anyone also know of anything else good from the M6/M9 department on Rapidshare that I am overlooking?  (Yes, I found the Haitink M9 from July, and the Chailly live M6 with an opening movement that sounds like Barbirolli.)

Best,
Michael

I don't do this very often, but those files I donwnloaded and still keep are (because they are so good):

Barenboim/Statskapelle Berlin M9th
Welser Most/CVLO M3, M9
Noseda M6
Rattle/CBSO M9
Norrington M9

Got links to any of those, John?  The only one of those I have is the Norrington M9.

You have to combine all these files to one whole (zip) file. There are several programmes that can do that. Here's one I heard people of using (I don't use it myself): HJSplit.
