Sanderling's rendition of M10 is one of the best out there, IMHO.

Is it so good that I have to get it when I already have a bunch of M10 Cooke (PO/Ormandy, NPO/Morris, PO/Levine, CBSO/Rattle, RSO Berlin/Chailly, and BPO/Rattle) ?

I'd say 'yes', if you can find it inexpensively. He does do a number of his own minor alterations to the orchestration.

Maestro Sanderling was a musician's musician. He recorded my favorite Rachmaninov S2 with the Philharmonia. I'm also fond of his Beethoven 4th, 5th and 6th, but I don't know if he recorded the complete cycle. In his Philharmonia recordings, you won't find a trace of the ragged ensemble that afflicts this orchestra.

He guest conducted here in Chicago several times, but I did not hear any of those concerts. He also recorded Shostakovich 15 with the Cleveland Orchestra.

Yes he did, he also did the piano concertos with Uchida - the Third from that set (with the Bav RSO on Philips) is perhaps my favourite of that work. 

I would also mention his Shostakovich 6 with the Berlin SO on Berlin Classics/Eterna is superb - he did several others of course.  I never really liked his famous Rach 2 in Leningrad on DG.
