http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mahler-Lorin-Maazel-Philharmonia-Orchestra/dp/B00G7S8OBQHas anybody given this a spin yet? Just going by the timings that Amazon provides, Maazel is still among the slowest Mahler conductors out there. Better sound this time, perhaps. For the Philharmonia, this must feel a bit like revisiting Sinopoli.
How much success does Signum feel they will have with this? Wouldn't most people who take Maazel's Mahle seriously, already have either purchased the Vienna Phil. box on Sony (you should see the booklet), or collected the N.Y. Phil. cycle with downloads?
