The wife and I just got back home from a trip to LA and a Hawaiian cruise during the last 3 weeks of February.  During a tour of LA, we had a quick stop (10 minutes) at Disney Hall, and I ran into the LA Philharmonic store and grabbed a couple of Dudamel CD's as a souvenir of my stop there.  Didn't see a copy of his LA M9, so settled for a Strauss/Berlin CD and a 3-disk set of him conducting Gothenburg SO.  Already had the LA/Bolivar DVD of M8.

A very positive review but no mention of it having been recorded.

The Mahler Third is part of this month's Dudamel/LAPO concert tour. M3 is to be performed at the following venues:

March 13 – David Geffen Hall, New York
March 17 – Concertgebouw, Amsterdam
March 20 – Philharmonie, Paris
March 24 – Barbican Centre, London

I'll bet a recording gets made at some point along the line.

I'd considered going up to hear the New York performance, but decided instead on a three-concert series Dudamel's doing with his Venezuelan orchestra at Carnegie Hall in October. Pétrushka, Le Sacre, and the Turangalîla-symphonie seem right up Dudamel's alley.

I've got word back from KUSC that they will resume L.A. Phil. Sunday night broadcasts beginning March 27. I'll let all of you know when they post the Mahler 3 (I wish wish I had gone done there now).

The Dudamel/Gothenburg set is really good. Enjoy.
