It would nice if Noseda could record some of these huge works with the National Symphony in D.C., his new gig.

True, but I don't know if the NSO in Washington currently has a recording contract with any of the major labels.  Anyone know?

I was not very impressed with this Noseda M9 recording. Too fast, nothing special.

Personally, I found this Noseda M9 on Fone to be a less than great recording, and certainly a less than great performance.  A surprise because I generally like what Noseda does.

Yes, I think he did excellent work with the BBC Phil. (Manchester). I'm sure he's a good catch for the National Symphony.

A friend of mine who attends National Symphony concerts feels that Noseda was a good choice for music director of the National Symphony.  I personally, have never seen him conduct, though I've listened to various non-Mahler CDs by him and found them pretty decent.  But my favorite times for Mahler with the NSO were during the Dorati years, and a M6 I heard him conduct was the best Mahler performance I ever heard to come from him.

The broadcast tape of Dorati doing M6 in Chicago is legendary. I've never heard it.

During Dorati's Washington years, I was able to hear him conduct all Mahler symphonies, except M7 and M8.  I seem to recall hearing him conduct the M10 Adagio, though I can't recall exactly for sure.
