Hi everyone. The Zimmerman trumpet concerto is really almost just noise, as far as I'm concerned. I skipped over it to the Mahler. The sound, picture and orchestral execution are all oustanding. Nelsons interpretation is definitely his own, with generally longer timings and a more 'reverentially' treatment of the work. It's almost as though he's saying Mahler 2 is a natural outgrowth from Bruckner 5, or something. Anyway, it's really good. I'm glad I added it to my collection.
