.   .   .  the singers are Saturova (?) & Naef, but that's enaef of that. It's a 2 cd set, but it looks as though it's going to be priced as one (18.98 suggested retail).

Thanks for letting us know.

I am very excited to have another Mahler recording from this team 8)

Their M6th is still one of my favorites, along with Levi, Tennstedt, and Bernstein (Sony).

But no SACD  - I believe Ondine and the Philadelphia O have ended that element of their relationship, and maybe the whole partnership.

I guess that would explain the eight dollar difference in cost when compared to their M6.

At the Philadelphia Orchestra download store there is an Eschenbach M1 live recording available now (top download). The recording date is April 2, 2004,
the timings are on the slower side:
1st: 16.21, 2nd: 7:59, 3rd: 10:57, 4th: 20:43

It is available as MP3 or lossless (FLAC). At a first glance, the sound suffers a bit from the low signal, but is okay. The performance seems to be very controlled. Personally, I like the first movement played more fluently, but agree to a slower 3rd movement.

Seasons greetings to all who have posted so many interesting and helpful messages, explanations, recommendations and discussions! I cannot add very much,
but read nearly everything.

Awesome.  Thanks for the info.  This will give me something to listen to on the way home tonight!  His commercial M1 with the Houston SO is one of my favorites, so I can't wait to compare.
