Inbal/FRSO/Teldec Bruckner cycle (OOT)

Could anyone comment on Inbal's once-available-now-deleted Bruckner cycle on Teldec?

I only have B9th and B0th and was quite impressed, especially with the zeroth symphony.

I heard the set includes a Finale to the Ninth completed by Samale (who made his own version of the complete M10th) and it really sounds authentic.

Most of the other entries such as the 3rd, 4th, 8th in the cycle are Bruckner's original versions.

Inbal uses the first versions of Bruckner, so the scherzo of 4 is not the well known and famous hunting scherzo, the 8th has a different coda in the first movement etc.

Inbal is a sensitive conductor, the recording and playing are very nice.

you can find 3,4,7 and 8 in budget price releases, occidental as well oriental.

I will get the 4th, 7th, and 8th, but I am most interested in the 5th coupled with Samale's completion of the 9th Finale.

I have 3, 4, 8, & 9 in the Inbal cycle. My disc containing No. 9 has the "Samale/Mazzuca Finale" present as track #4. It's in a two-disc mid-price set also containing symphony No. 8. Symphonies 5 and No. 9 (with the Finale) were coupled together as a two-disc set in the original full-price incarnation of this cycle.

A small note: The Samale/Mazucca version is superseded by the SPMC (Samale/Mazucca/Phillips/Cohrs). The latest (2005 rev.) has been recorded by a minor German orchestra, which I didn't hear, but I did record a live performance by Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Daniel Harding. Cohrs was present at the concert and was very satisfied with the performance and the work Harding did.

I don't think it's too likely, but I'll look into this for you later in the week (when I'm in Berkeley). In the U.S., Warner is now farming out the distribution of Teldec and Erato to Naxos, so they are expanding the number of titles that will be available to Amazon and retailers in the U.S. Warner is going to retain distribution of Nonesuch, which is considered a domestic label anyway. I'll get back to you on Thursday or Friday.

If you want the Inbal cycle, then you better be pretty curious about first versions. Personally, I think the Tintner cycle on Naxos is far more interesting (which also uses a lot of earlier versions).
